Starlight* Mythology and Nomenclature
Pretty much all the characters in the Sailor Moon universe have mythology tied to them and so do those from SZ. It makes things so much more plausible and easier when you can go and look at various myths, pick one that suits your character and steal them. Hehe! I hope you find this section as informative as the others! I found most of this information on the Greek Mythology Link. I suggest using this site if you need to look up myths. It's very informative.
Aquarius
Aquarius comes from the myth of the Deucalion Flood, where Zeus poured all the waters from the heavens in order to wash away the wicked and evil men on Earth. This constellation is also said to represent Ganymedes, who was taken from his father in order to serve as cupbearer to the gods on Mount Olympus.
Aries
The most recognized myth that goes with this constellation is that of Jason and the Argonauts who were sent to get the fleece from the ram that Aries represents. This constellation is protected by Athena - Goddess of the Hunt.

Cancer represents the crab that was sent by Hera to kill Heracles (Hercules), one of Zeus' illegitamate children whom she hated the most. It almost killed Heracles because he was too busy with the Hydra at the time. But at the last moment, before destroying the Hydra, Heracles crused the crab.
Capricorn
The most recognizable myth that goes with this constellation is that of Pan, who was half-man half-goat. It is said that he transformed his lower half to that of a fish tail in order to escape the land during Typhon's attack. Zeus, admiring his quick-wittedness, placed him among the stars as a tribute.

Ganymedes
Ganymedes, or Ganymede is one of Jupiter's many moons. For more information on Ganymedes refer to Aquarius.
Gemini
The constellation Gemini represents the twin brothers Castor and Pollux, who are also known as the Dioscuri. They were very close and didn't do anything or make any decisions without consulting each other before hand. Poseidon, god of the ocean, gave these two the power of wind in order to aid shipwrecked men. The twins also have twin sisters: Helen of Troy and Clytaemnestra. Castor is mortal and Pollux is immortal because of different parentage.
Leo
Leo represents the Nemean Lion, which Heracles was sent to kill on his first task. This constellation commemorates the battle fought between Heracles and the Lion.
Libra
The constellation of Libra represents justice and equilibrium and is usually seen in the hands of the goddess of justice, Themis (or Dike - depending on the source) who is more often than not seen blindfolded.
Pices
The constellation of Pices represents Aphrodite and her son Eros, who escaped from Typhon's attack by turning themselves into fishes. This constellation is protected by Poseidon.
Proxima
Proxima Centauri is part of a triple star system with Alpha Centauri A and B. It's also the closest star to our Sun and is located in the constellation of Centaurus. Proxima Centauri is classified as a white-dawrf and normal star, and is approximately 4 lightyears from the sun. Click here for images from the Chandra Observatory.
Sagittarius
This constellation represents the archer, Crotus, who was companion to the Muses. He was placed among the stars by Zeus.
Scorpio
Scorpio, or Scorpious, represents the scorpion that Apollo sent to kill Orion. Apollo sent the scorpion because he was jealous of how much time Orion and Artemis (Apollo's sister) was spending together.
Taurus
Taurus represents Zeus, who disguised himself as a white bull when he became infatuated with Europa, a princess of Phoenicia and Telephassa. He carried her off to Crete when she became awestruck by the beauty of the bull and leapt onto its back. Europa eventually bore Zeus three sons: Minos, Rhadamanthys, and Sarpedon.
Virgo
Virgo is the representation of the goddess of justice, Dike. She also goes by the name of Astraea. At first she lived on Earth (during the Silver Age), and no one dared go against her, because they dared not upset her. It was during the Bronze Age that she finally left the Earth when she found that the men of this age were too diseased and she came to detest the race of the Bronze Age.
